SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's tennis team won the day's final two matches to take a come-from-behind, 5-4 victory over Plattsburgh on Saturday. The Devils dropped a 9-0 match to Oneonta earlier in the day.

With Plattsburgh ahead 4-3, the Devils needed wins in the final two matches to claim the team victory. Chelsea Mang came through in No. 6 singles after a three set battle. Mang won the first set 7-5, and dropped the second 2-6. She won the final set in a 7-6 (8-6) tiebreaker to keep the Devils alive.

The final match of the day saw No. 3 singles Calee Prindle using three sets to claim the individual and team victory, winning 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.

Other winners included the No. 2 doubles team of Prindle and Megan Zarzycki, and the No. 3 doubles duo of freshman Katrina Johnston and Mang.

Johnston had also won her No. 5 singles match. Johnston, a Fredonia High School alum, has three wins in the first two days of SUNYAC Pool Play.

The Devils wrapped up their conference with a 9-0 loss to New Paltz at 9 a.m. Sunday in Syracuse. The loss left them with a 1-4 record in SUNYAC competition, 1-5 overall, heading into a SUNYAC match Sept. 19 at Brockport.
