Women's tennis

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- With all other matches finished, all eyes turned to the No. 2 singles match Saturday between Fredonia State sophomore Calee Prindle (Geneva) and Oswego's Christine Burkhart.

Prindle's 7-8 (3), 6-2, 7-5 victory provided the winning point in 5-4 home win by the Blue Devils (3-5).

Two seniors, Elise Daigler (North Tonawanda) and Sierra Summerville (Mexico), teamed to win the No. 2 doubles match. Each woman also won her singles match.

In addition, freshman Lauren Shirley (Homer/Cortland) won her singles match.

The Blue Devils are back in action 1 p.m. Sunday vs. Oneonta on the Steele Hall courts.
