CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Fredonia State sophomore Hailey Guard (Youngstown/Lewiston-Porter) was a double-winner Friday during the Mid-February Meet at Baldwin-Wallace College.

Guard won the 500 meters in 1:23.70 and the 1,000 meters in 3:14.11.

Fredonia State athletes won two other events. In the women's 400 meters, sophomore Kate Brett (Webster/Webster-Schroeder) was clocked first in 1:04.03. More impressively, her second-place time in the 55-meter hurdles was 8.66 seconds, a clear-cut personal-best and among the top times in the SUNYAC this winter. The other Blue Devil victory was by junior Mike Kelley (Geneseo) in the men's triple jump, with 13.31 meters.

Other top Blue Devil performances were two seconds and a third by junior Jackie Majka (Depew), two seconds by freshman Tyler Riberby (Shenendehowa), a second-place by sophomore Eddie Novara (Angola/Lake Shore), and a third-place by sophomore Greg Craft (Cheektowaga/JFK).

Majka was second in the women's high jump (1.57 meters) and the women's long jump (4.91 meters) and third in the women's triple jump (10.12 meters). Riberdy was second in th men's long jump (6,24 meters) and second in the triple jump (12.90 meters). Meanwhile, Novara had a solid 8:42.59 in the men's 3,000 meters, while Craft cleared 4.10 meters in the men's pole vault.

There was no team scoring in the meet.
