Track & Field

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State athletes swept the SUNYAC weekly track and field awards, the first of the outdoor season.

The Blue Devils were honored for their respective performances March 19 in the Bulls Invitational at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

They are:

Men's Track -- Carl Caughell, sophomore (Niagara Falls/Niagara-Wheatfield). Caughell finished eighth in 15.91 seconds in the 110-yard hurdles.

Men's Field -- Cody Dahleiden, sophomore (East Aurora/East Aurora). Dahleiden was eighth in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.27 meters (14 feet).

Women's Track -- Kate Brett, junior (Webster/Webster-Schroeder). Brett ran 1:04.22 in the 400 hurdles (.02 off the NCAA Division III provisional standard) to finish fifth. She also ran the 100 hurdles in 15.82 seconds and was part of the fifth-place 4x100 meter relay.

Women's Field -- Jackie Majka, junior (Cheektowaga/Depew). Majka was seventh in the triple jump (11.26 meters), eighth in the high jump (1.60 meters), and 12th in the long jump (5.17 meters).
