(FRIDAY RESULTS: MEN/WOMEN)

BOSTON, Mass.  -- Fredonia State senior thrower Julia Hopson (Poughkeepsie/Arlington) finished fourth in the women's shot put during the ECAC Division III Track & Field championships Friday at Tufts Universiy.

Hopson's best throw was measured at 12.63 meters, which was four feet shorter than the event winner. On Saturday, Hopson will be back in competition in the women's 20-pound weight throw. She was the ECAC champ in the event the last two years.

Also Friday, junior jumper Michael Kelley (Geneseo) triple jumped 13.68 meters to finish eighth. He will compete in the long jump Saturday.

Meanwhile, sophomore hurdler Kate Brett (Webster/Webster-Schroder) was 10th in the preliminaries of the 55-meter high hurdles with a time of 8.69 seconds. The top eight moved on to finals Saturday.

Also Saturday, junior jumper Jackie Majka (Depew) will compete in both the women's long jump and the high jump.
