Track & Field

AMHERST, N.Y. --- Fredonia State competed Saturday at the University at Buffalo Invitational and had several strong performances.

On the women's side, Julia Hopson won the hammerthrow with a best toss of 54.62 meters. In the same event, Keri Heath had a personal-best 35.46 meters.

Jackie Majka competed in three jumping events. She was second in the high jump (1.62 meters), fourth in the long jump (4.96 meters), and fourth in the triple jump (10.48 meters). Also, Kate Brett was third in the 100-meter high hurdles (15.63 seconds) and fourth in the 400 intermediate hurdles (1:06.58).

On the men's side, Aaron Borowczyk in the 200 meters (:22.75) and seventh in the 400 (:51.62). Carl Caughill was third in the 110 hurdles (:15.85). Mike Hite threw the javelin 42.97 meters in only his second collegiate competition. Tyler Riberdy was second in the triple jump (13.29 meters), fourth in the long jump (6.26 meters), and teamed with Borowczyk, Greg Jackson, and Michael Kelley to run a 44-second 4-by-100 meter relay.
