Volleyball 

WASHINGTON, PA. --The Fredonia State volleyball team ventured to southern Pennsylvania on Saturday and came away with a pair of wins over Geneva, 3-0, and Washington and Jefferson, 3-1. Both matches were at Washington and Jefferson.

The Devils used a balanced attack in both wins. In the opener, the Devils won by scores of 25-16, 25-23 and 25-21.

Chelsea Senn (Frontier/Hamburg) had seven kills, while Jenna Tatu (Tonawanda/Kenmore West), Kaitlin Erdmann (Randolph/Randolph) and Rebecca Zimmerman (Jamestown/Jamestown) each had five kills. Sarah Zurek (Lancaster/St. Mary’s) had 16 digs while Danielle McNeil (West Seneca/St. Mary’s) and Brittany Lis (Lancaster/Lancaster) had 10 digs apiece. Lis also had 29 assists.

Against Washington and Jefferson, the Devils won by scores of 25-19, 20-25, 26-25 and 25-19.

Erdmann, Zimmerman and Lindsey Olson (Portville/Portville) led the Devils with seven kills apiece. Christian had five kills.

Defensively, Erdmann and Reese had four blocks each. The trio of Zureck, Lis and Jennifer Michelsen (Lake Shore/Frontier) had 22, 18 and 14 digs, respectively.

Michelsen had four service aces and Lis set 41 assists.

The Devils extend their win streak to seven matches and improve to 16-10 overall. They play host to Penn State Behrend on Tuesday, before entering SUNYAC Pool Play at Dods Hall the upcoming weekend.
