FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State Blue Devils won their eighth straight match in exciting fashion, downing Penn State Behrend, 3-2, Tuesday in Dods Hall.
The Devils won the first and third sets, while Behrend won second and fourth to set up the showdown in the fifth. The Devils claimed a 15-12 victory, improving their record to 17-10.
The Devils were led by Kaitlinn Erdmann (Randolph/Randolph) with 19 kills. Jenna Tatu (Tonawanda/Kenmore West) had 13 kills, while Becca Zimmerman (Jamestown/Jamestown) had 11.
Brittany Lis (Lancaster/Lancaster) had 55 assists and 16 digs. Sarah Zureck (Lancaster/St. Mary's) had 35 digs, and Jennifer Michelsen (Lakeview/Frontier) added 27 digs.
Behrend falls to 16-7 with the loss.
Next up for Fredonia State is SUNYAC Pool Play beginning Friday in Dods Hall.
