(FULL TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE/RESULTS)
FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Host Fredonia State claimed the Blue Devil Invitational championship, winning all four matches in the two-day event. Sophomore setter Brittany Lis (Lancaster/Lancaster) earned the MVP award. Gallaudet, at 3-1, was the runner-up.
Day 2 saw the Blue Devils (13-10) down Gallaudet and Ithaca each by 3-1 scores.
In the fist match against Gallaudet, junior Kaitlin Erdmann (Randolph/Randolph) had 13 kills, Lis had 27 assists, sophomore Sarah Zureck (Lancaster/St. Mary's) had 24 digs.
Against the Bombers, the Devils were led by Erdmann with 15 kills, Jenna Tatu (Tonawanda/Kenmore West) with 11 kills and 3 blocks, and Lis with 46 assists and 14 digs.
Tatu was the other Blue Devil named to the All Tournament Team.
