BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- Fredonia State opened SUNYAC West Division Pool Play with 3-0 wins Friday vs. Buffalo State and Oswego.
The Blue Devils (8-8) defeated Buffalo State 25-20, 25-21, and 25-12. Audrey Zimmerman (East Aurora) had eight kills while Rebecca Zimmerman (Jamestown) and Lindsey Olson (Portville) had five kills each. Also, Danielle McNeil (West Seneca/St. Mary's) collected 10 digs; Kaitlin Erdmann (Randolph) three kills, four service aces, and five blocks; and Brittany Lis (Lancaster) collected 16 assists, four service aces, and six digs.
In a 25-9, 25-23, 25-20 victory over Oswego, Olson had six kills and six digs, Jenna Tatu (Tonawanda/Kenmore West) four kills, Erdmann three kills and three blocks, McNeil six aces and 19 digs, and lis 15 assists, three aces, and six digs.
The Blue Devils meet Geneseo at noon before finishing the weekend against Brockport, a scheduled 2 p.m. start.
