FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State junior setter Brittany Lis (Lancaster) has been named the first SUNYAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week of the 2010 season.
Lis led the Blue Devils to a 3-1 weekend at Cortland’s Red Dragon Invitational where she was an All-Tournament Team selection. She led her team with 95 assists and had 48 digs, posting three double-doubles in four matches.
The Blue Devils swept Montclair State and St. Lawrence on the first day to advance to the championship round where they faced Cortland in the semifinals. The Blue Devils defeated their SUNYAC rival with a 3-1 showing where Lis collected 34 assists and 14 digs.
In the championship match against Lebanon Valley, Lis finished with 19 assists and 11 digs.
Fredonia State's second-place finish was their best-ever in the Red Dragon Classic, where they've been competing since 1997.
