FREDONIA, N.Y -- Fredonia State rallied Saturday to defeat Morrisville State, 62-60, for its first SUNYAC win of the season. The Blue Devils are 7-7 overall and 1-5 in the conference.

Angela Pucciarelli (Fredonia) had a game-high 21 points while Merissa Gaeta (Windsor/Windsor) had a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds.

Sybil Stanton and Sydney Pajack led the Mustangs (2-10, 0-6 SUNYAC) with 15 points each. Tekesha Hanson added 11 points.

Up 38-32 at halftime, the Blue Devils extended their lead to 47-36 with 15:12 remaining on a basket by Katie Landy (Jamestown/Southwestern). The Mustangs battled back with a 17-5 run to take the lead, 53-52, on a basketball by Caroline Francis with 6:20 left.

The lead changed hands twice before Fredonia State took the lead for keeps, 56-55, on a basket by Gaeta with 3:08 left.

Fredonia State takes to the road for its next two SUNYAC games -- Tuesday at Geneseo, and Friday at Cortland. The Blue Devils are back at home next Saturday vs. Brockport.
