CORTLAND, N.Y. -- Cortland remained unbeaten in the SUNYAC with a 69-37 home win Friday over Fredonia State.
The Red Dragons (13-2, 6-0 SUNYAC) led 23-14 at halftime by holding the Blue Devils (7-9, 1-7 SUNYAC) to 5 of 27 shooting from the field. The Blue Devils improved to 8 of 21 (38.1 percent) in the second half.
Junior forward Merissa Gaeta (Kirkwood/Windsor) led the Blue Devils with 10 points and eight rebounds while Jessica Laing had 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead Cortland.
Fredonia State returns home Saturday to meet Brockport at 6 p.m. in the Steele Hall Fieldhouse.
