Women's basketball

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's basketball team dropped a 64-52 road contest at Plattsburgh on Saturday.

 

Plattsburgh scored first and would lead wire to wire. The Devils would pull to within three, 38-35, midway through the second period following an Angela Pucciarelli (Fredonia) lay up.

 

The Devil offense was paced by Merissa Gaeta (Kirkwood) with 12 points. Pucciarelli had 11. Katie Landy (Jamestown) reached double-digits in rebounds for the second consecutive day with 12 boards. She added eight points, as did Caroline Hourihan (Buffalo/Nardin).

 

Taylor Amarando led the Cardinals with 18 points off the bench. Erin Silberberg added 12.

 

The Devils fall to 8-11 overall and 2-9 in conference play. Plattsburgh ups its record to 10-9 overall, and 6-4 in the SUNYAC.
