BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- An extremely slow start doomed the Fredonia State Blue Devils in their 78-44 non-conference road loss to Geneva College.

The Blue Devils (6-4) made 2 of 24 field-goal attempts in the first half and trailed 31-11 at intermission.

Junior forward Merissa Gaeta (Kirkwood/Windsor) had 18 points and six rebounds, while sophomore guard Kalli Harrington (Westfield) grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

Geneva (5-5) had three players in double figures and shot 50 percent from the field in the game (23 of 46).

Fredonia State will play SUNYAC opponents for the rest of the regular season, starting Friday at 6 p.m. vs. Plattsburgh in the Steele Hall Fieldhouse. The Blue Devil and Plattsburgh men meet at 8 p.m. in the second game of the doubleheader.
