MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Fredonia State dropped its first game of the year, 82-51, to Mount Union in the first round of the National City Tip-Off Tournament.
The Blue Devils (2-1) trailed 47-18 at halftime on 19.2 percent shooting (5 of 26). They finished the game at 27.6 percent overall.
Senior forward Angela Pucciarelli (Fredonia) was the long Blue Devil in double figures with 10 points. She and freshman guard Nicole Calbi (Olean) had four rebounds each.
Sophomore guard Caroline Hourihan (Buffalo/Nardin) added eight points and three assists for the Blue Devils, who'll meet Waynesburg in the National City consolation game at 1 p.m. Saturday. Waynesburg fell to Allegheny, 50-49, in Friday's other first-round game.
