BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's basketball team picked up a 45-40 SUNYAC road win at Buffalo State on Tuesday, keeping its post-season hopes alive.
The Devils led the entire first half, but the lead was never more than five points. They held a 19-14 advantage at the break.
The Devils took control of the game opening the second half, scoring the first eight points to take a 27-14 lead, their biggest of the game.
The Devils were led by Katie Landy (Jamestown) with 14 points. Angela Pucciarelli (Fredonia) had 12. Merissa Gaeta (Kirkwood) grabbed nine rebounds.
Buffalo State (5-19, 4-11 SUNYAC) was paced by Jessica Clark with 15 points, and Barb Kiliszek with 13.
The Devils (9-13, 3-11 SUNYAC) play host to Geneseo, who stands at 4-10 in the conference, on Friday night, a team, along with Buffalo State, that they are battling for the eighth and final playoff spot.
The Devils wrap up the regular season in Steele Hall the following afternoon vs. Cortland at 2 p.m.
