FREDONIA, N.Y. -- A Gwen Curtis (Rochester/Greece Arcadia) corner kick sailed past Oswego's Toby Klein directly into the net a minute into the first overtime to give the Blue Devils a thrilling 2-1 victory over the visiting Lakers on Friday evening.

Just 10:00 minutes earlier, a Curtis corner kick also figured in the Devils' first goal. Down 1-0, Curtis launched a kick that was deflected by Reilly Condidorio (LeRoy) to Laura Hartung (Rochester/Greece Arcadia). Hartung found the net from 15 yards out for the game-tieing goal.

Oswego scored its goal in the 59th minute. Julie McCloskey headed a corner kick off the foot of Tricia Sullivan to give the Lakers a 1-nil lead.

Prior to rallying for a pair of scores, the Devils had picked up the pace late in the second half and began dominating play, just missing on goals three times from inside 15 yards in the final 14:00 minutes. Their persistence paid off, with the pair of goals late in the game.

Becky Scroger (Spencerport) made four saves and allowed one goal. Oswego's Klein was credited with eight stops -- including several spectacular saves -- while allowing both goals.

The Devils outshot the Lakers 21-9.

Fredonia State improves to 8-4-0 overall, and 2-3-0 in SUNYAC play. The Lakers drop to 5-5-1, and 1-3-1.

The Devils play host to Cortland on Saturday in another important conference matchup. It will be the team's final home game of the year, and is slated for a 7 p.m. start. Oswego travels to Buffalo State.
