BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Freshman forward Reilly Condidorio (LeRoy) had one goal and one assist as Fredonia State rallied past Buffalo State, 2-1, and kept its SUNYAC playoff hopes alive.
The host Bengals (8-6-2, 4-3-2 SUNYAC) opened the scoring 52 seconds into the second half with an unassisted tally by Courtney Hilliker (Williamsville/Williamsville South). The Blue Devils (10-5-1, 4-4-1 SUNYAC) roared back with goals in the 64th and 68th minutes, and moved into a tie for the seventh place in the SUNYAC. The top six teams make the playoffs.
Condidorio netted the first goal with an assist from Jacki Borcyk (Rochester/Greece Odyssey), and then set up the game winner, scored by Lauren Heilweil (Binghanton/Chenengo Forks).
Fredonia State outshot Buffalo State, 12-7. Meghan Jarrell (Hamburg/Hamburg) made six saves for the Bengals, and Becky Scroger (Spencerport/Spencerport) had four stops for the Blue Devils.
The Blue Devils will travel to Brockport to close out their SUNYAC regular season Friday afternoon. Buffalo State, in fifth place one point ahead of the Blue Devils and New Paltz, will conclude its regular season at Geneseo on Saturday. New Paltz, meanwhile, closes its season with a home game Saturday vs. Oswego.
