Women's soccer

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- SUNYAC coaches have chosen Fredonia State's Chris Case as their 2009 Coach of the Year in women's soccer.

Case guided the Blue Devils to a second-place finish in 2009 with a 6-2-1 conference record. They team was selected for eighth place in the coaches' pre-season poll.

The six conference wins tied a school record. In addition, the Blue Devils were 11-5-3 overall. It was their second straight 11-win season and the fourth in Case's eight seasons as head coach. He has a career coaching record in women's soccer of 79-58-18.

It was the second time Case has received the award. His previous honor came in 2003, only his second season at the helm.

In addition, Case was the 2008 SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Coach of the Year.
