FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's soccer team used two goals by Lauren Heilweil (Binghamton/Chenango Forks) to claim a 4-2 victory over visiting Buffalo State.

Heilweil's goals, her sixth and seventh of the season, gave her 30 for her career and tied her with Jessica Weiser (2005) for the most in Blue Devil history.

The Devils' first goal of the game was scored by Reilly Condidorio (Leroy/Leroy) on a free kick at 15:25.

Heilweil would score the game's next two goals on near-identical shots in less than two minutes apart. She connected from the left side of the 18-foot box to the opposite side of the goal on each score. The first was a double-assist off a corner kick form Melissa Cummiskey (Clarence/Clarence) and Madison Brown (Niagara Falls/Niagara Wheatfield) at 37:24.

Heilweil's second goal came at 40:38 courtesy a Julia Medwid (Alexander/Alexander) assist to give the Devils a 3-0 lead that would hold up through the first half.

Buffalo State scored first in the second half, as Melissa Mahoney scored unassisted in the 66th minute.

The Devils would immediately respond, as Emily Beh (Penfield/Penfield) scored a minute later, making it a 4-1 game. Condidorio and Julie LaPolla (Penfield/Penfield) assisted.

The Bengals kept up the pressure, and scored once more in the 83rd minute as Leigh Krzyzanowski found the back of the net. The Bengals did manage several shots on goal in the second half, with Blue Devil netminder Melissa Meszaros (Selden/Newfield) making nine of her 12 saves in the second frame.

Buffalo State (2-2-3, 0-1-0) would out-shoot the Devils 19-16 for the game. Megan Jarrel made five saves for the Bengals.

Next up for the Devils (4-2-1, 1-0-0) is a weekend trip to Oneonta nad New Paltz next Friday and Saturday.
