GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men finished second out of eight teams Saturday at the Buffalo State Daniel Walker Invitational.
The Blue Devil women were fifth of seven teams at the same meet.
Tom Williams (Queensbury), the lone Blue Devil senior and captain, was fifth overall and first for his team. Another Queensbury native, freshman Brian Gallagher, was 11th overall, followed by junior Nick Guarino (Bergen/Byron-Bergen). The fourth and fifth Blue Devil men were junior Josh Guarino (Bergen/Byron-Bergen), and junior Eddie Novara (Angola/Lake Shore).
On the women's side, the top Blue Devil finisher was freshman Nicole Bochman (Jamestown), who was 13th overall. The next four Blue Devils were sophomore Shannon Gowan (Clarence) in 39th, sophomore Ashley Cocuzzi (Webster/Webster Schroeder) in 42nd, sophomore Katie Krueger (Jamestown) in 44th, and junior Hailey Guard (Youngstown/Lewiston-Porter) in 49th.
The race was held at Beaver Island State Park.
