Men's Swimming & Diving

Devils sixth after Day One

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's swimming and diving team was in sixth place following Thurdsay competition at the SUNYAC Championships.

A sixth-place finish by freshman Robert Rumsey (Grand Island/Grand Island) in the 200-yard individual medley was the best showing by a Blue Devil athlete.

In addition, Rumsey joined junior Brian Ruffles (Angola/Lake Shore), senior Chris Oaks (Palmyra/Palmyra-Macedon), and junior Nathan Peterson (Frewsburg/Frewsburg) to finish seventh in the 400-yard medley relay.

The Championships run through Saturday with preliminaries (10 a.m.) and finals (6 p.m.) scheduled each of the next two days at the Erie County Community College Flickinger Aquatic Center.
