Junior right-hander Noah Huard (Buffalo/City Honors) tossed a five-hitter with six strikeouts in a 2-1 victory in the opening game. Sophomore right-hander Tom Hausler (Williamsville/Williamsville East) allowed six hits in the nightcap, a 1-0 Fredonia State loss. In the opening game, a sacrifice fly by senior Kyle Adams (Naples/Naples) brought home sophomore Sam Tuzzeo (Irondequoit/Irondequoit) to break a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning. Tuzzeo opened the inning with a single, went to second on a single by senior Bryan Recchia (Webster/Webster-Schroeder), and both runners were sacrificed over by sophomore Jordan Basile (Jamestown/Jamestown). A walk preceded the sacrifice fly by Adams. The other Blue Devil run scored in the second inning on a double by sophomore Pete Lusk (Albion/Albion), a single by senior Pete Gavin (Rochester/Greece Olympia), and an RBI single by junior Dan Murphy (Eden/Eden). The Blue Devils are back in action Saturday vs. Plymouth State at Fort Myers, Fla.
