The Blue Devils (0-2) led 5-2 heading into the last of the sixth inning before LaRoche (6-6) tallied six times. Starting pitcher Shawn Ridgway (Wayne/Ontario) had a strong outing. Mike Austin (Buffalo/City Honors) collected two RBI, Dan Murphy (Eden/Eden) had two hits, and Jim Kunkemoeller (West Seneca/St. Francis) and Phil Gavin (Rochester/Greece Olympia) each had an RBI single. In the second game, walks and errors conspired against the Blue Devils. Three of the four LaRoche runs were the result of walks. Fredonia State compounded the wildness with four errors. Kunkemoeller had two more hits. Starter and losing pitcher Craig Heath (Watkins Glen/Watkins Glen) and reliever Noah Huard (Buffalo/City Honors) combined on a four-hitter. The Blue Devils were scheduled to face Gannon College on Monday but that game has been postponed. Their next action is Friday vs. Amherst College at Fort Myers, Fla.
