The Blue Devils (7-12, 2-4 SUNYAC) took a 2-0 lead in game one. Dan Taurisani (Utica/Proctor) connected on a two-run double in the second. The lead would hold up until the bottom of the fifth, when Brockport scored three times. A one-out error, walk and fielder's choice loaded the bases. Rob Maxwell would double in two runs. Brent Nicholson drove in the go-ahead run with an infield single. Brockport would tack on three more in the seventh to give the final. Noah Huard absorbed the loss, going five innings and giving up three unearned runs. Jake Dennstedt improved to 5-0 for Brockport. The Golden Eagles would get strong pitching in game two, as Maxwell and Casey Scott combined for a five-hit shutout. The Devils limited Brockport to eight singles. Two runs in the first and two runs in the sixth proved to be enough offense. Phil Gavin (Rochester/Greece Olympia) topped the Devils with three hits on the afternoon. The Devils host St. John Fisher on Wednesday. They then travel to New Paltz and Oneonta for a pair of SUNYAC games this weekend.
