The Devils won 4-3 before taking the nightcap 6-1 Tuesday afternoon at Ludwig Field. Devil's starting pitcher Shawn Ridgway allowed three first-inning runs. Glen Ufland drove in the first run with a single. Matt Markott drove in two more with a two-out single. Cap took over to start the second and would allow two hits, strike out five and walk two the rest of the way. Fredonia State trailed most of the game, but would tie the game in the bottom of the sixth. Pinch hitter Dan Taurisani drove in Shane Morrison to tie the game at 3-all. The Devils would win it in the bottom of the seventh. A one-out walk to Bryan Recchia and two-out walk to Ryan Sweda set the stage for pinch hitter Dan Murphy. Murphy lined a single to right-center to plate Recchia and end the game. The Devils were paced by two hits apeice from Morrison and Phil Gavin. Joey Ferrara paced the Hawks with a pair of hits. In game two, the Devils got another strong pitching performance. Sophomore Matt Bauman spun a complete-game three hitter. He struck out seven and walked one. Matt Baudo led the Devils with three hits, including a double. Trey Johnson scored two runs and drove in two others. Hilbert's run came in the fourth inning. Ufland cracked a two-out double, and scored on a Markott single. Ferrara took the loss on the mound, going six innings while allowing eight hits and six earned runs.
