OSWEGO, N.Y. -- Fredonia State batters connected for 31 hits Monday in a doubleheader sweep of Oswego, 11-9 and 10-5.

The attack was led by sophomore Jim Kunkemoeller (West Seneca/St. Francis), who was 7 for 8 on the day, including two homers in first game of the doubleheader.

The Blue Devils improved to 9-18 overall and 4-6 in SUNYAC. Oswego dropped to 11-13 and 3-7.

Kunkemoeller collected six RBI (five in Game 1), scored six runs, and had 20 putouts at first base on the day. His three-run homer capped a four-run seventh inning to break open Game 1. He also had a two-run homer in the third inning.

Junior infielder Bryan Recchia (Webster/Webster Schroeder) also cracked a two-run homer in the first game. Junior rightfielder Kyle Adams (Naples/Naples), sophomore catcher Brandon Phillips (Rochester/Gates-Chili) and sophomore shortstop Tom Butler (Verona/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) had two hits each -- Phillips and Butler from the No. 8 and No. 9 spots in the Blue Devil batting order.

Senior righthander Craig Heath (Watkins Glen/Watkins Glen) was the winning pitcher. He worked the first seven innings. Sophomore lefthander Matt Bauman (Alden/St. Francis) pitched the final two innings.

In Game 2, senior designated hitter Shane Morrison (Elmira/Notre Dame) had a two-out, two-run single as part of a decisive five-run third inning.
