The Blue Devils jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning of game one. A walk to leadoff hitter Jordan Basile, followed by three straight hits -- one each from Kyle Adams, Kevin Malaney, and Jim Kunkemoeller -- plated two runs. A Phil Gavin ground out brought home the third run. The lead would hold up until the bottom of the seventh. With the Devils up 3-1, Behrend woul get a one out walk to Tim Nebel. A Mike Stetz single put runners at the corners. After a flyout to center, Gabe Stephenson would plate two runs with a walk-off double. Ricky Carlson would absorb the loss in relief. In game two, Behrend would get two runs in the first and two in the fourth off starting pitcher Justin Nowak. The score would hold up as a pair of Behrend pitchers would combine on a one-hitter in the 4-0 victory. Trey Johnson would account for the only Devil hit. Jeremy Hulbert and Brandon Miller each worked a scoreless inning of relief for the Devils. Johnson led the Devils with three hits on the afternoon. Kunkemoeller was the only other Devil with a pair of hits. The Devils are off Firday before playing host to Plattsburgh on Saturday and SUNYIT on Sunday. Both days are slated for a noon start.
