![]() Sports Information Department – 112 Dods Hall CONTACT: Matt Palisin, FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEBaseballBasile, Herrmann named All SUNYACFREDONIA, N.Y. -- A pair of Fredonia State Blue Devils -- junior Jordan Basile (Jamestown) and sophomore Rob Herrmann (Trumansburg) -- were named to the all conference squad. Basile, a First Team selection as an outfielder, finished with a .362 batting average in conference-only play. His 21 hits and 12 runs in 14 SUNYAC games were fourth in the league. Basile finished third with 28 total bases and second with five doubles. Overall, he collected 50 hits -- second all time -- en route to a .352 average. His 30 runs rank third all-time. He now has 95 career hits in his three seasons, breaking into the Devils' Top 10. Herrmann earned the Second Team nod at catcher. He was also named all SUNYAC as a freshman. He batted .396 in conference play and threw out eight of 12 would-be basestealers. He drove in 11 runs, and his 21 hits tied Basile for fourth in the conference. Overall, Herrmann batted .395 with 47 hits (ranking fourth all-time) and 11 doubles, one shy of the school record. Both players have also signed on to play in prestigious wood-bat summer leagues. Basile will play for Weyburn (Sask., Canada) in the Western Major Baseball League (WMBL) with teammate Ricky Carlson (Jamestown). Herrmann has hooked on with the Allegany Nitros in the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL). -------
