Noah Huard (Buffalo/City Honors) signed with the Oneida Barge Bucs, while Shawn Ridgway (Wayne/Ontario) is a member of the Herkimer Trailbusters. Both players are right-handed pitchers. Huard, who recently completed his senior season, was the Devils' top starter the past two seasons. This past spring, he was 3-5 with a 3.66 ERA in 51 2/3 innings. In 2006, he was a Second Team All SUNYAC performer after posting a 3-0 record and a 1.19 ERA in conference play. Ridgway finished his collegiate career in 2006. He posted an 0-6 record with a 6.75 ERA in 45 1/3 innings pitched. "This is a great opportunity for both players," head coach Matt Palisin said. "Noah has been a horse for us the past couple seasons and has constantly improved. Playing in the league will be a great opportunity for him to continue to improve and hopefully move up to the next level." Huard features a high-80's fastball with movement and an outstanding slider. Command of his change-up the past two years has elevated his performance. "Noah put in a lot of time with our pitching coach David Tubbs after struggling his first two seasons," Palisin said. "The hard work to develop a third pitch paid off and is a credit to both of them." Ridgway features a fastball and a forkball. "Shawn throws a quality forkball, which is something a lot of hitters don't see very often," Palisin said. "When he has command of that pitch, he can be tough to hit." This is the first season of competition for the league.
