The first five batters reached base and scored off Blue Devil starting pitcher Craig Heath (Watkins Glen/Watkins Glen). The Panthers (16-11) added two more runs in the second and three in the third to go up 10-0. Fredonia State broke through for two runs in the fifth inning. Bryan Recchia (Webster/Webster Schroeder) reached base on a two-out walk. Mike Austin (Buffalo/City Honors) hit an infield single. An errant throw to first allowed both Recchia and Austin to circle the bases. The Blue Devils (6-25) scored three more in the sixth as Kyle Irving (Sanborn/Niagara Wheatfield) drove home a run with a single. Recchia followed with a two-run double. Recchia, Irving and Austin led the Blue Devils with two hits each. The Blue Devils will wrap up their season with a doubleheader at noon Saturday vs. SUNYIT on Ludwig Field.
