FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEBaseballDevils defeated in 10th inning at New PaltzNEW PALTZ, N.Y. – Fredonia State lost a heartbreaker Saturday in the second game of a SUNYAC doubleheader with New Paltz. A pinch-hit single in the last of the 10th inning carried the Hawks (9-16, 3-5) to a 6-5 victory after they won the first game 5-0. Mike Austin (Buffalo/City Honors) had an RBI triple in the top of the eighth inning to tie the game at 5-5. It was his second hit of the game. Tom Butler (Verona/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) also had two hits for the Blue Devils (2-12, 2-6), including a two-run double for a 4-3 lead in the seventh inning.
