Richie Bartkowiak (Fredonia) followed up with a two-run double to provide insurance as the Blue Devils defeated the Cardinals 7-4 in 11 innings in the second game of Sunday's SUNYAC doubleheader. On the mound, Bret McCabe (Buffalo/St. Francis) went nine strong innings, striking out 7 in keeping the Blue Devils in the game. Kyle Adams (Naples)picked up the win with two innings of scoreless relief. Offensively, 11 different Blue Devils managed at least one hit, led by Bartkowiak, Morrison, and Bryan Recchia (Rochester/Webster-Schroeder) with two each. In game one, Plattsburgh used six first-inning runs en route to a 7-0 win. After a walk and a fly out, the Cardinals racked up six straight hits to plate their six runs. An Alvaro Espinal ground out plated the final run in the third. Fredonia State's Mike Munski (Rochester/Rush-Henrietta) went the distance on the mound, taking the loss.
