With the wind blowing out, Southern Virginia (8-8) connected for four home runs and pinned the loss on Fredonia State starter Bret McCabe (Buffalo/St. Francis). McCabe was relieved by knuckleballer Mike Munski (Rochester/Rush-Henrietta), who allowed two runs over the final two innings. Bryan Recchia (Webster/Webster Schroeder) led the Fredonia State offense with two hits and two stolen bases. Kyle Adams (Naples/Naples) and Phil Gavin (Rochester/Greece Olympia) also had two hits each. Scott Herdzik (Dunkirk/Dunkirk) also stole two bases. Fredonia State had six stolen bases overall. The teams play a double-header starting at noon Saturday. Herdzik and Donny Burch (Cuba/Cuba-Rushford) are the scheduled starting pitchers for the Blue Devils.Athletics Home | Fredonia Home
