Cheerleading

Fredonia State third in its division

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- The Fredonia State cheerleading finished third overall in the All-Girl Show Cheerleading 4-Year College division of the United Spirit Association nationals.

The Blue Devils outscored University of California-Santa Barbara during finals held Monday at the Cashman Center. San Diego State won the competition, and Azusa Pacific was second.

In addition, the Fredonia State all-girls stunt team finished sixth in a 12-team field at Las Vegas. Stunt team members were freshman Liz Collichioi (Rochester/Hilton), sophomore Mary Ganey (Union Springs/Union Springs), junior Chelsea Gioia (Oswego/Oswego), freshman Stefanie Ventura (Hilton/Hilton), and freshman Stefanie Zoda (Rochester/Greece Arcadia).
