The Pioneers' Colin Kingston netted the game-winner at 3:21 into the overtime period. He was assisted by Nick Lynch. After a scoreless first period, Utica's Vinny Rinaldi opened the scoring 1:14 into the second frame. Fredonia State would tie the game at 5:39 as Tom Briggs (Fruitport, Mich.) connected for his third goal of the year. Neal Sheehan (Avon Lake, Ohio) and Jim Gilbride (Parma, Ohio) assisted. Utica took a 2-1 lead :33 seconds later, as Rob Hodnicki scored his first of the year for the Pioneers. The Blue Devils' Steve Greenberg (East Lansing, Mich.) tied the game in the third, scoring off a Richard Boyce (Mississauga, Ont.) feed 7:14 into the period. The score remained 2-all until Kingston ended it in overtime. Fredonia State senior goaltender Rick Cazares (San Jose, Calif.) was credited with 38 saves. Winning goaltender Adam Dekker stopped 41 shots for the Pioneers. Fredonia State (8-6-2) will have an opportunity for revenge, as they play host to Utica (9-5-0) at Steele Hall on Saturday.
