Devils tame Mustangs

FREDOONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State extended its win streak to four games with a 5-2 win over Morrisville State on Friday evening.

The Devils scored the only goal of the first period, as Joe Muli (Sioux Lookout, Ont.) found the net 2:31 into the game on assists from Don Jaeger (Grosse Pt. Woods, Mich.) and Andrew Dissanayake (Ajax, Ont.).

Morrisville State tied things at 1-all early ln the second period, with Matt Damskov (Spokane, Wash.) scoring a power play goal at 18:08 of the frame.

Kyle Bozoain (St. Charles, Mo.) would then answer with a pair of goals -- one power play and one short-handed -- to put the Devils up 3-1.

Fredonia State's Steve Albert (Port Huron, Mich.) opened the scoring of the third period with a power play at the 15:17 mark. Morrisville answered back with a Joseph Herman (Congers, N.Y.) goal to make it 4-2.

Jeff Aonso (Toronto, Ont.) capped the scoring with his first goal as a Blue Devil to give the 5-2 final.

The Devils dictated play for most of the game and outshot the Mustangs 42-15. Tyler Owens (Vernon, Conn.) was credited with the win in goal, stopping 13 shots.

The same two teams take the ice on Saturday with a 7 p.m. start.
