Devils pepper Morrisville
FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State scorched the net for a season-high 11 goals in defeating Morrisville State 11-1 on Saturday. It was the fifth straight win for the surging Devils (10-5-3).
After a slow start, the Devils scored five goals in a span of just over seven minutes. Kyle Bozoian opened the barage at the 11:51 mark pf the first period, and capped the run at 18:57 with his second score of the game.
Morrisville's only goal came at 1:03 into the second, with a power play goal off the stick of Nick Carrelli, to make it 5-1.
The Devils answered by scoring four more times before the second period came to a close. They tacked on two more scores in the third.
Bozoian would finish with a hat trick, giving him 11 goals on the season. He was also credited with an assist.
Other offensive stars were Kraig Kuzma (two goals, two assists), Bryan Goudy (two goals), Neal Sheehan (two goals), and Scott Bradley (three assists). Joe Muli added the game's 11th and final goal.
Kevin Amborski earned his second win in goal for the Devils, stopping 27 of 28 shots. The Devils outshot Morrisville, 40-28.
The Devils now take a breather before making a trip to the North Country in two weeks -- January 26 and 27 -- to take on Plattsburgh and Potsdam.
