Sheehan moves up career goal list in Devil win
POTSDAM, N.Y. -- Senior forward Neal Sheehan (Avon Lake, Ohio) scored two goals, including his 24th career power-play tally, to lead Fredonia State to a 4-2 SUNYAC road win over Potsdam.
Sheehan's power-play goal was part of a four-goal second period by the Blue Devils (11-5-4, 4-3-2 SUNYAC). He later added a short-handed goal later in the period.
The power-play goal was Sheehan's ninth of the year. Meanwhile, his 24 career power-play goals moved into a tie with Craig Conley for fifth place on the Fredonia State career list.
Freshman forward Andrew Dissanayake (Ajax, Ont.) scored his first collegiate goal to start the four-goal outburst by the Blue Devils. Sophomore defenseman Colin Sarfeh (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) also had a goal.
Freshman goaltender Patrick Street (Annapolis, Md.) made 27 saves.
Jeff Zatorski (Welland, Ont.) and Connor Treacy (Markham, Ont.) had the Potsdam goals.
The Blue Devils return home Friday vs. Oswego, the conference leader, followed by a visit Saturday from Cortland.
