The Blue Devils (7-5-3) never trailed in either of the two weekend games -- including an 8-1 win Saturday night at Steele Hall -- and outshot Wentworth, 86-42, in the two games. Twelve Blue Devils earned at least one point with five having having two or more, led by freshman Steve Rizer (Smithtown), with one goal and two assists. Rizer also had two goals in Sataurday's win. Kevin Amborski (Bloomfield) made 18 saves. Chris DeBruyn (Calgary, Alberta) opened the scoring at 4:40 of the first period, Matt McKeown (Niagara Falls, Ont.) added an unassisted tally at 14:26, and Richard Boyce (Mississaugua, Ont.) connected on backhander at 19:03. The teams traded goals in the second period. Rizer made it 4-0 Fredonia State with his fifth goal of the season, and the third in two days, at 10:27. Wentworth’s Rob Pagani (Spencerport) ended Amborski’s shutout bid with an unassisted goal at 15:59. Pat Capella (Syracuse) scored a short-handed goal :59 seconds into the third period, while Steve Albert (Port Huron, Mich.) tallied on a power play at 7:26. Andrew Hess (Bowling Green, Ohio) closed the Fredonia State scoring with a power-play goal at 11:04. Wentworth's Matt Koehler (Pembroke, Mass.) added a power-play goal at 12:06, his second goal of the series. The Blue Devils return to SUNYAC competition Friday and Saturday nights at Morrisville State before returning to Steele Hall Jan. 18 vs. Manhattanville. -------
