Devils tie No. 2 St. Norbert, 2-2

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State and nationally ranked St. Norbert played to a 2-2 tie Saturday at the Steele Hall Ice Arena.

The Blue Devils (2-1-1) scored two power-play goals, while the Green Knights (2-0-1), ranked No. 2 by USCHO.com, scored twice while short handed.

Blue Devil freshman goaltender Pat Street (Annapolis, Md.) stopped 25 of 27 shots, including 13 of 13 in the third period and overtime.

St. Nobert junior goaltender Kyle Jones (North Delta, B.C.) was credited with 19 stops.

The Blue Devils jumped to a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal by junior Adam Haberman (Novi, Mich.) at 4:04 of the first period. Junior Evan DiValentino (Burlington, Ont.) and senior Scott Bradley (Belleville, Ont.) picked up assists.

Senior Kyle Bozoian (St. Charles, Mo.) made it 2-0 Blue Devils at 10:51 with his team's second power-play goal, assisted by sophomore Colin Sarfeh (Laguna Nigel, Cal.) and freshman Matt McKeown (Niagara Falls, Ont.).

The St. Norbert goal-scorers, both in the second period and both while short-handed, were senior Troy Boisjoli (Glidden, Sask.) and sophomore Steven Sleep (Thunder Bay, Ont.) at 3:36 and 10:32, respectively. The Green Knights kept up the attack throughout the period, which ended with the Blue Devils in the midst of killing off a five-minute major penalty.

The Blue Devils completed the penalty kill in the third period and were 7 of 7 in the department throughout the game.

After starting the season with four non-conference games, the Blue Devils open SUNYAC play with home games next weekend vs. Potsdam (Nov. 3) and Plattsburgh (Nov. 4).
