Brendan McLaughlin had two goals and four assists, and Ryan Ellis had two goals and two assists, as the Lakers improved to 7-0-0 overall, 3-0-0 in the conference. The Lakers, the conference coaches' choice to win the SUNYAC title, were 3 of 9 on the power play and outshot the Blue Devils (3-3-1, 1-2-0 SUNYAC) by a 41-19 margin. The 8-goal deficit was the largest loss by the Blue Devils dating back to a 10-2 defeat to Hamilton during the 1998-99 season. It was also the largest regular-season SUNYAC setback since an 11-2 loss to Plattsburgh in the second game of the 1989-90 season. Fredonia State returns to SUNYAC action 7 p.m. Saturday at Cortland.
