Sheehan, Street shine vs. Bengals
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Junior forward Neal Sheehan (Avon Lake, Ohio) and freshman goaltender Pat Street (Annapolis, Md.) led Fredonia State to a 3-0 SUNYAC win over Buffalo State.
Sheehan accounted for all the scoring with a natural hattrick -- his fifth, sixth, and seventh goals of season, while Street stopped all 26 shots he faced to register his first collegiate shutout.
In addition, the Blue Devils (4-4-1, 2-3-0 SUNYAC) killed off seven of seven Buffalo State power-play chances and broke a three-game losing streak in the process.
Sheehan's three goals came 18 seconds into the second period, at 13:16 of the third period, and into an empty net with 24 seconds left in the game.
Sophomore defenseman Colin Sarfeh (Laguna Niguel, Cal.) was credited with two assists. Junior defenseman Steve Albert (Port Huron, Mich), senior forward Kraig Kuzma (Muskegon, Mich), and senior forward Kyle Bozoian (St. Charles, Mo.) had one assist each.
The game was the final one in November for the Blue Devils. They return to home ice for their next game, Dec. 1, vs. Geneseo.
Buffalo State dropped to 3-7-0 overall, 2-3-0 in the SUNYAC.
