Fredonia State sophomore defenseman Colin Sarfeh (Laguna Niguel, Cal.) netted a goal at 19:01 in the third period to cut into a 3-1 deficit, but Potsdam held off the Devils for the final 59 seconds to earn the win. Fredonia freshman forward Matt McKeown (Niagara Falls, Ont.) scored at 12:40 in the first period to give the Devils an early lead. Potsdam senior forward Pat Lomay scored two goals in just 17 seconds of play at 9:56 and 10:13 in the second period to put Potsdam back on top 2-1. Potsdam never trailed again. Fredonia junior defenseman Steve Albert (Port Huron, Mich.) assisted on each of Fredonia's goals. Potsdam's Nik Bibic and Adam Gebana each had two assists each. Ryan McCarthy scored Potsdam's third goal at 17:43 in the third period. Fredonia freshman goaltender Pat Street (Annapolis, Md.) stopped 27 of 30 shots for the loss. Potsdam goaltender Vince Cuccaro stopped 35 of 37 shots for the win. The Blue Devils (3-2-1, 1-1-0 SUNYAC) will resume play Friday November 10, in Oswego.
