Fredonia State’s Kevin Amborski (Bloomfield, N.Y.) and Buffalo State’s Sean Sheehan (Mt. Laurel, N.J.) battled for more than 82 minutes, facing 43 shots each. Amborski made 42 saves, and Sheehan, a senior, three-time All-Conference pick, closed his career in spectacular fashion despite the loss, stopping 41 shots. The Blue Devils (13-9-4) opened the scoring way back in the second period on a goal by Kraig Kuzma (Muskegon, Mich.) with assists from Barlow and Bryan Goudy (Pt. Huron, Mich.). It was Kuzma's seventh goal of the season and gave him 98 points over four seasons at Fredonia State. Buffalo State pulled even at 1-1 just 1:14 into the third frame on Jason Hill’s (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) 14th goal of the season with assists from Tyler Soehner (Baden, Ont.) and Mike DeMarco (Niagara Falls, N.Y.). Barlow ended the game early in the fifth period with a hard slapshot from the sideboards. It was his third goal of 2006-07. Goudy earned an assist. The Blue Devils earned a berth in the SUNYAC semifinals at No. 1 Oswego on Saturday at 7 p.m.
