Vote for Bozoian for Frozen Four Skills Challenge
FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Voting has begun to choose the top 16 men and top 16 women to compete in the The Pontiac Frozen Four Skills Challenge.
Fredonia State senior forward Kyle Bozoian (St. Charles, Mo./St. Charles West H.S.) is one of the nominees.
A four-year player for the Blue Devils, Bozoian is second on the team in scoring this season through 18 games with 11 goals and seven assists. Seven of his goals have been on the power play, one is short-handed, he has one game-winner, and one goal to tie a game.
Over four seasons, he's 12th all-time at the school in goals (44, most among currrent players) and is 16th in total points (89 in 102 games).
Bozoian was among 181 student-athletes -- mostly from NCAA Division I programs -- nominated by their coaches for the Challenge. Now that the list has been pared down to 89 finalists, he is vying to become one of six skaters on the men's East Division (there are 22 nominees). He's the lone NCAA Division III student-athlete on the East list of potential skaters.
The chosen 32 -- including eight goaltenders -- will compete in an East vs. West format. The Challenge will be comprised of the following categories: puck-control relay, fastest skater, hardest shot, rapid-fire shooting, accuracy shooting, and penalty shot.
The Challenge will be broadcast live at 7:30 p.m. April 6 on ESPNU from the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, located minutes from Bozoian's St. Charles home.
Fans wishing to vote for Bozoian can do so by logging onto the NCAA men's hockey home page (http://www.ncaasports.com/icehockey/mens) and accessing the online voting page located under the Top Stories headline (bottom center of the screen).
Voting lasts until Feb. 12.
