The win -- coupled with Geneseo's tie vs. Potsdam -- left the Blue Devils (15-4-4, 9-3-2) alone in third place and set up a rematch with Cortland next weekend at Steele Hall. Fredonia State could have finished in second place in SUNYAC had Geneseo lost. Six different Blue Devils scored a goal. Freshman Neal Sheehan (Avon Lake, Ohio) and sophomore Kraig Kuzma (Muskegon, Mich.) had one goal and two assists each. Other Fredonia State goal-scorers were freshman Steve Albert (Port Huron, Mich.), sophomore Kyle Bozoian (St. Charles, Mo.), freshman Chad Berman (Grand Rapids, Mich.), and junior Jim Gilbride (Parma, Ohio). Goaltender Rick Cazares (San Jose, Calif.) made 25 saves in the penalty-filled game. The teams combined for 42 infractions. The Fredonia State-Cortland rematch will come the first round of the SUNYAC Tournament at Steele Hall. The series begins Friday, Feb. 18, and resumes the following night, Feb. 19.
