Devils stay perfect in SUNYAC

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Fredonia State maintained the top spot in the SUNYAC with a 4-3 road win at Buffalo State. It was the Devil's third victory over Buff State this season, the first two coming in early season tournaments.

The Devils (7-1-1, 5-0-0) would have to come from behind, as Buff State (2-6-1, 1-3-1) scored twice in the first period. Greg Prybylski scored on a power play 2:16 into the game. Mike DeMarco gave the Bengals a 2-0 lead, his sixth score of the season, at 8:13 of the first period.

Chad Berman (Grand Rapids, Mich) started the Blue Devil rally at 12:52 of the first on assists from Kyle Bozoian (St. Charles, Mo.) and Neal Sheehan (Avon Lake, Ohio).

The Devils wasted no time in the second period as Kraig Kuzma (Muskegon, Mich.) scored at just over a minute into the frame. Buff State regained the lead just before the end of the period as Sean Burke scored his seventh goal of the season.

Max Catelin (Grenoble, France) tied the score at 3-all at 7:45 of the third period. Mike Smietana (Buffalo) followed up with the game-winner at 16:58. He was assisted by Catelin and Steve Greenburg (E.Lansing, Mich).

Junior Rick Cazares (San Jose, Cal.) continued his strong play in goal, collecting 26 saves. Buff State's Sean Sheehan had a busy night in net, stopping 37 shots while allowing four scores.

The Blue Devils play host to St. Clair on Friday in a non-conference tilt.
