Cazares stopped 21 of 23 shots and improved her personal record to 1-4-2 over three seasons -- the first two at NCAA Division 1 Michigan Tech. Freshman Chad Berman (Kentwood, Mich.) broke a 2-2 tie at 12:08 of the second period and sophomore Kraig Kuzma (Muskegon, Mich.) scored two insurance goals, the latter into an empty net with 15 seconds remaining. Also scoring for the Blue Devils (3-1-1) were junior Steve Greenberg (East Lansing, Mich.) and sophomore Scott Bradley (Belleville, Ont.). Both scored in the first period -- Greenberg while his team was short-handed, Bradley on the power play. Sophomore Matt Zeman (Rocky River, Ohio) picked up three more assists. He entered the game tied for the SUNYAC scoring lead with 10 points. The Blue Devils were 11 for 11 on the penalty kill. They were 1 of 6 on the power play. Freshman Steve Sankey (North Vancouver, B.C.) and senior Jay Kuczmanski (Cheektowaga) had the Geneseo goals. Blue Knight freshman goaltender Derek Jokic (Petersburg, Ont.) made 15 saves.
